Guess what today is? No, it’s not Awesome Brownie Day, although the picture above is not exactly the best indicator.
OK, it is a day for oh-so-amazing brownies, but it’s also something else rather special — it’s The G-Spot Revolution’s birthday! That’s right: Today The G-Spot Revolution is 1-year-old.
Isn’t she just adorable?
When I launched this blog a year ago, I had no idea that it would turn into not only a resource for each one of you, but a wonderful outlet for me to explore my venture into gluten-free living. My diagnosis with celiac diease left me where it left a lot of you — not sure where to start, but positive a healthier, more fulfilling life was on the horizon.
You helped me get to that feel-good place — each and every one of you.
And to thank you — and, of course, to celebrate — I’m giving you these brownies. They’re not exactly anything complicated and I’m probably being a not-so-great hostess by suggesting you serve something up that is only half-homemade. But, hey, sometimes we all need a break, and when it’s your party … well, you can do anything you damn well please.
To make these brownies, all you have to do is pick up a box of your favorite store bought gluten-free brownie mix and a few other ingredients. I used this wonderful Moist Brownie Baking Mix (gluten- and casein-free) that I found at my local gluten-free bakery, Gluuteny. I also love Betty Crocker’s Gluten-Free Brownie Mix. Of course, if you want to be a wizard and make brownies from scratch, you can do that too.
And as if these brownies aren’t the biggest tease on planet Earth, I guess now is as good a time as ever to tell you (and begin to admit it to myself) that, starting tomorrow, I am embarking on a Gluten-Free Sugar Cleanse with the ultra-cool Jennifer Fugo from Gluten Free School. SHE MADE ME DO IT.
But, seriously, I don’t know about you, but I need to seriously kick my sugar habit in the arse. In case you missed Jennifer’s guest post about what sugar is doing to our bodies, then check it out now (there are also some yummy recipes).

If you want to join me on the road to a healthier, more energized life, then hop to it — there are only two spots left! I will be documenting my entire experience here, and tomorrow you will be able to find all of the details in a section of the blog that will be completely devoted to the Sugar Cleanse. I promise to share recipes, ups and downs, and the moments that I think will hurt the most (i.e. watching anyone else around me enjoy sugar).
In other news, I am having issues organizing the cabinets in our new kitchen due to the fact that some of the spaces are just flat out silly. What do you do with cabinets that have deep pockets?
(Yes, those are my naughty kitties in there … ↓)
I am thinking of hitting up IKEA or Bed Bath & Beyond tomorrow for some nifty organizers like these and these. Anyone have any other suggestions? I hate when I have to pile things into a cabinet and then they get lost back in the dark abyss of cabinetry no-where-land.
ORGANIZE MY LIFE, please. (Or maybe just my cabinets?)
