gluten-free goodies.

Woo hoo for gluten-free deliciousness! I recently had the opportunity to try two new gluten-free products — one from CLIF Bar and one from Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery — and I absolutely ♥ them both! What are the chances of that?!

First up, are the new Kit’s Organic Fruit & Nut Bars from CLIF Bar. They are gluten-free, 100% organic, soy free and dairy free. Oh, and they are vegan!

Look-y how pretty they were when they arrived:

And they even sent me a packet of seeds along with the bars. How nice is that?

All of the bars really are great. They remind me a lot of one of my other favorites, LARABAR, but they have their own personal flair. For instance, I think they are a little less oily than LARABARs and they have a nice bread-like quality to them — makes them feel substantial!

Now, I don’t like to pick favorites, but since I know you’re gonna make me, I will. All of the bars are very tasty, but if I had to pick one that holds a special place in my heart (tummy?), then it would be the Chocolate Almond Coconut:

SO GOOD! Here are the details on this bar:

These bars hit nationwide shelves on May 30th and my bet is that they are going to be a smashing success. I know I will be scooping them up!

This lucky girl also had a chance to review another fabulous product this week — Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery Tortillas! Ohmygosh, I can’t even tell you how excited I was to give these babies a whirl!

Hands down the best part (next to the taste, of course) about these tortillas is that they are foldable, bendable and downright unbreakable. Sounds like a gymnast, right? (Tee, hee.)

But seriously, I can’t tell you how many gluten-free tortillas I have spent bought for their cheap price of $28,000.23, tried and been seriously disappointed when I go to wrap up some goodies and they fall apart.

Cue the *wah-wah* music.

So, you can imagine I was pleasantly surprised to wrap these guys up and have absolutely no breakage. No messy burritos! No mess all over my fingers! No profanity!

I shared with my little bro, Isaac, who is also gluten-free and he managed to sweet talk me enough that I shared more than half of my prized tortillas with him. One thing is for sure: When a 17-year-old kid gives ANY food item a thumbs up, you can bet it’s a good one. Because, gosh, are teenagers ever picky about their food.

I even used these tortillas in a new, top secret recipe feature I have coming out in Breathe magazine. Stay tuned for that!

Get the nutrition facts for the tortillas here, and start keeping your eyes peeled for them in your local stores. They are making their way throughout the nation this month!

HAPPY TUESDAY — get your eat on! :-)
